The Louvre Abu Dhabi is the first universal museum in the Arab world that presents both ancient and contemporary works of historic, cultural, and sociological interest from around the world. Background

Born out in a diplomatic agreement signed on March 6, 2007, between the United Arab Emirates and France, The Louvre Abu Dhabi is the first universal museum in the Arab world that presents both ancient and contemporary works of historic, cultural, and sociological interest from around the world. Hovering above the sea with a 180 meters in diameter cupola pierced with interlace designs that appears like interwoven palm leaves, providing unique light and shade.

The 64,000 square meter museum which has been designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel is comprised of 55 detached buildings. Twenty-three of these buildings are devoted to galleries, exhibition halls, Children’s Museum, restaurants, boutique gift shop and café.

The Challenge

The museum was inaugurated on November 8th 2017, unveiling rich permanent collections consisting of its own acquisitions particularly, 600 works ranging from Antiquity to the present along with 300 works on loan from French museums. The Louvre Abu Dhabi aims to complement the other Emirati museums and help transform the art and cultural scene in the Middle East.

The Solution

1. Hytera provided 200+Pcs TETRA terminals to all the staff and security.

2. The radio was equiped with 3W RF power (380-430mhz) to have a larger coverage compared with other terminals.

3. Integrated with bi-directional amplifer & DAS (distributed antenna system), providing comprehensive coverage inside the museum.

4. Strong and durable device to comply with IP67 and MIL-STD-810G enable users to have extraordinary experience.

5. Integrated with Siemens network management system, to provide cutomer unified unified umbrella management system.

An advance solution in the form of state of the art security system is a part of the museum’s complex in order to protect its high quality works and its precious legendary collections.

It also turned out that the main area would be extremely complex for communication system coverage because of the presence of large basement compose of galleries and corridors and numerous exhibition halls. However, the use of Hytera TETRA Base Station has guaranteed the compliance needed to meet the requirements. And by the provision of PT580H Plus transmit power new specification, it effectively enlarges the workable coverage area, including basements and extending coverage indoors. The radio supports Open Loop Power Control which adjusts the actual transmit power in 5dB paces when needed.
